Set on rolling hills, Queen of Heaven Cemetery | Queen of Heaven Mortuary rests on more than 100 acres, with new ornate gardens in development. Its natural beauty shines through, accented by stunning statues, artwork and stained glass.
Queen of Heaven Mortuary is spacious (16,000 square feet), and the building includes two large visitation rooms and a chapel that seats 165. The reception area has kitchen facilities. There are three private arrangement rooms, a children’s grief resource center, a flower and gift shop, and a comfortable visitors’ lounge. Visitors can also wander through two courtyards cooled by beautiful fountains.
Conveniently located, Queen of Heaven is easy for family members to visit. Many leaders in culture and the arts have made Queen of Heaven their chosen resting place. Join us for special Masses and prayer events during the year.

As part of our efforts to maintain the beauty of Catholic Cemeteries, we have established a regular practice of removing flowers every Thursday. However, we do recognize the importance of certain holidays such as Easter, All Souls Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, during which we allow flowers to remain undisturbed. It’s a day intended for remembering family and friends who have passed from this life, but per the norm, Day of the Dead celebrations across the Archdiocese were fun-filled, vibrant, downright joyous occasions. Over the course of two weekends -- Saturday, Oct. 28, and Saturday, Nov. 4 – a trio of our most storied cemeteries hosted thousands of our faithful for day-long celebrations. Like any other year, our 11 Catholic cemeteries celebrated All Souls Day Masses on Thursday, Nov. 2, but this year’s Mass at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley brought another cause for celebration. When the morning Mass concluded, Fr. Riz Carranza of nearby St. Peter Claver Church led a group of his fellow priests, plus deacons, Knights of Columbus, and hundreds of onlookers to a neighboring corner of the cemetery for a second ceremony to bless and dedicate the St. John of Vianney section. The moment surely took on special meaning for some of the clergy there. It was a happy day at Calvary Cemetery in East L.A., and the rebirth of a vaunted tradition at one of the Archdiocese’s oldest operating cemeteries. On Wednesday, Oct. 25, some 200 third graders from nine neighboring Catholic schools descended on Calvary for Catechetical Day, a precursor for the annual Day of the Dead celebration, set this year for Saturday, Oct. 28. This annual celebration will feature performances by indigenous dancers on the Cathedral Plaza, and the veneration of the sacred relic of the tilma of St. Juan Diego, which bears the miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It's worth noting that the Cathedral is home to the only relic of the tilma outside of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. Once inside the Cathedral, the celebration continues with a special Rosary and musical tributes by a mariachi band, who will perform "Las Mañanitas," a traditional Mexican birthday song to honor the Virgin on her Feast Day. The program will be conducted in Spanish, and the festivities will conclude with a midnight Mass, presided over by Archbishop José H. Gomez.
